  • ZOE CROSHER @ 65GRAND

  • 65GRAND is pleased to present Zoe Crosher in her first Chicago solo exhibition. On view are photographs from her newest project entitled LA-LIKE. Included in this series are also the striking photographs titled Fools Gold. In LA-LIKE, Crosher's photographs are of a quiet, distilled Los Angeles; displaying images of sun infused ferns tangled behind wrought iron grating, and worn signage against a backdrop of dark vegetation. Her work in LA-LIKE has been compared to the decadent, sultry noir of Raymond Chandler. Fools Gold, also part of the LA-LIKE series, depicts close-up images of glittering, light-saturated rock set on a background of stark white. Also to be released is LA-Like (Lost) a CD of manipulated cover songs about Los Angeles.

  • Crosher received her MFA in Photography and Integrated Media at the California Institute of the Arts in 2001. She has an extensive exhibition history, including the solo show entitled ZOE CROSHER@THE BLACK DRAGON SOCIETY in Los Angeles in 2000. Her most recent exhibitions include OUT THE WINDOW (LAX) at DCKT Contemporary, New York, NY in 2006, OUT THE WINDOW (LAX) at Small A Projects, Portland, OR in 2006 and LA-LIKES, a two-person show with Todd Brainard at Kidder-Smith Gallery in Boston, MA, also in 2006. Crosher has received numerous awards and residencies for her work. In June of this year, Ram Distribution released Zoe Crosher - Out the Window [LAX] a book of images from her project of the same name published by LA Forum. Zoe Crosher is currently based in Los Angeles.
